The Vivekananda Vidyavardhak Sangh Puttur ( VVSP ) is behind the establishment of the VCET, hence it is privately owned. The college was ready in the year 2001, although the VVSP trust began its work in 1915. It is located in Karnataka and has been approved by the AICTE.
It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The college aims at becoming the most preferred learning institute which sends out socially responsible students in the world.

The admission criteria are based on 10+2 pass percentage in science stream and required an entrance exam. The higher courses would take students with a pass percentage of the relevant Bachelor’s degree.
The college keeps organising Webinars, Sabbaticals, Soft skills and Technical training workshops etc. They run workshops and lectures for the refinement in the knowledge of the faculty as well.
Hostel and Facilities
VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY PUTTUR
Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur is located in Karnataka. It has hostels for both male and female students. The rooms of the hostel are big and comfortable and equipped with furniture. Rooms are maintained in such a way that it provides an environment that is good for studies. Other facilities that are provided by the college are supply of hot water, reading rooms, TV hall, prayer room, library, a mess that provides hygienic food, CCTV surveillance, and more. Students are not allowed to use their mobile phones in the rooms and the wardens of the hostels take care of the discipline, rules and security of the hostels.
The Campus celebrates many functions and fests, events and training programs like Inter- college tech fest, SPARK- Industrial Visit, Road shows, Seminars, technical training, soft skill training, inter college fest- aspirations, and many more events.
