N.k.t.national College Of Education For Women, (autonomous) Chennai

N.K.T. National College of Education for Women, Chennai was established in 1966. The vision of N.K.T. National college of Education for Women is to foster love for academic excellence and intellectual vigour. The College was started by a dedicated pioneer and philanthropist Sri. N.K. Thirumalachariar who had the privilege of direct interaction with great leaders like Dr. Radha Krishnan, Sri. V. V. Giri, Dr. A.L. Mudaliar and Sri. C.R. Pattabiraman. Under the guiding spirit of such an eminent educationist, we are proud to say that we have been successfully implementing autonomy from the year 1988. The College was accredited with Five Star Status by NAAC in year 2001. The College has been establishing close association with national and international bodies like NCERT, UGC, NCTE, AIAER, RCI and University of Stockholm, Sweden.

Admisson :-

Courses Offered : Every year 230 students are enrolled:

B.Ed : From the academic year 2007-08 onwards single window system of admission was implemented for B.Ed course.

B.Ed : Candidates who have passed the B.Ed Degree Examination of the Madras University or any other University equivalent to it, are eligible for the M.Ed Course

M.Phil : Candidates who have passed their degree in their basic faculty and have passed M. Ed. Degree examination of University of Madras or any other University equivalent to it alone are eligible for admission to the M.Phil course.

For the fulfillment of the M.Phil degree, full time students have to submit a dissertation after completion of the theory papers during the academic year & part time students must submit their dissertation at the end of the second year.

Ph.D. : Candidates who have a degree in the basic faculty with M.Ed and M.Phil or M.Ed without M.Phil from the Madras University or other University equivalent to it are eligible for the registration to Ph.D. degree in education, subject to the approval Tamilnadu teachers education University.

Admission:

Paper I : Research Methodology
Paper II : Research Topic chosen for thesis
Thesis : To be submitted at the end of the scheduled period
Public Viva Voce : A public viva voce will be held after passing of the thesis.
