The institute was established in the year 1823 by Pandit Gangadhar Shastri and worked as a Government college till 1883. It was affiliated to Allahabad Technical University since 1927 and currently it is affiliated to Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra.

The institute is approved by All India Council of Technical education, New Delhi and Ministry of HRD Government of India.

The college offers B.Tech and M.Tech courses. For admission to its undergraduate courses a candidate should have done class 12^th with aggregate of 50% marks with the relevant subjects. For post graduate courses the candidate should have its bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering.

The college follows the guidelines of U.P technical University (UPTU), Lucknow.

Library

The digitalised library has a wide range of resources which comprise of text & reference books, magazines, periodicals, journals, CD’s and videos. The library automation software “Alice in windows” has been equipped for attaining the user’s requirement within a short period of time. They have an annual subscription to IEL-129 IEEEand a book bank facility. A photocopy section is available to the students and the faculty.

The seminar hall is equipped with ultra-modern audio-visual systems which are accessed through the Wi-Fi enabled facility.

The cultural and literary activities committee conducts the sports activities where Annual sports, literary competition, the Annual Cultural/Technical Festival and other cultural events are organised every year in the college playground. An inter-college competition on Engineer’s cricket cup is held with the colleges in the Agra region.
