The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) is located in Jaipur. It was established in 1976 and spans 40 acres. NIA offers courses in Ayurveda. It operates under the Ministry of AYUSH Government of India. NIA was one of the Institutes to be recognized as a Deemed to be University in the Ayush field.

NIA offers different academic programs. Its flagship course is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). Other programs include Post Graduate (MD/MS in Ayurveda) Post Doctoral (PhD in Ayurveda) and Diploma (DAN&P). NIA uniquely offers six Interdisciplinary MSc courses in Ayurveda.

NIA is affiliated with Rajasthan Ayurved University in Jodhpur. The institute has a 260-bedded NABH accredited hospital. This hospital provides OPD and IPD services. If offers facilities like a Panchakarma Centre, modern operating theatres, ventilator-supported emergency care beds, a GMP Certified Pharmacy and a Patholab.

NIA accepts NEET UG for BAMS admissions. For MD/MS programs it accepts AIAPGET.

The institute has received an "A" grade accreditation from NAAC and is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines.
