With a missionary zeal, Pavendar Bharathidasan College of Engineering and Technology was established to cater to the demanding needs of the students, coming from economically weaker community. The college runs under the management of Saraswathi Educational and Health Trust, established in 1997.
The college is AICTE approved and is affiliated to one of the top university, Anna University. Its sprawling campus with greeneries and great infrastructure are the points of attraction of the students.
The college provides many facilities to the students including sports, gymnasium, cultural activities, hostels, well equipped modern labs, etc.The college won ICTACT Academic Partner Excellence Awards 2012.

The mission of the institute is 'LEARNING FOR EXCELLENCE'.Hailing from a Tiny Village “Amaradakki” along the coastal belt of Pudukkottai District, our founding father Thiru.(Late).Manickam Udaiyar brought up his only son to the peak of his glory occupying the highest position and status in life, amidst immeasurable hardships. Experienced by this dutiful task, this visionary nobleman with missionary zeal, established the colleges to cater to the needs of the students, mainly from economically weaker section with rural background to achieve “Learning for Excellence” the motto of our institution.The above noble thought resulted in the formation of Saraswathi Educational and Health Trust which was established in 1997 under the guidance of our eminent advisor Mr.A.M.Raman, I.A.S., (Retd). Realizing the importance of education, the learned educationists and philanthropists of the trust established a group of institutions in the name of the great Tamil Poet Pavendar Bharathidasan.The college is located in a sprawling campus with lush greenery and eco-friendly environment. The infrastuctural facilities, buildings, class rooms, laboratories and workshops are designed and constructed as per AICTE requirements. The college library has a vast collection of text books, reference books, internatioanal and national journals. The working of the library is extended beyond college working hours to facilitate students. The laboratories are fully equipped with “State of the Art” and latest equipment.The philosophy of the College Management being “Providing Quality Technical Education”, we have post graduate Faculty Members at middle and lower level. The top level is crowned with Faculty, a blend of Educational-Industry background to provide industry oriented education to the students.To provide “Value Addition” to the students, the college has Training & Placement Cell, headed by a senior member from industry , supported by a group of trained and qualified staff members. To pursue MBA at PABCET students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
