Kumaraguru College of Technology is one the best private engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. For admission to their UG Computer Science and Engineering course your TNEA scores are required. The cut off for Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering was around 190 in 2017.

Fees

For Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering can be about Rs 80,000 per semester. Scholarships are given by college and the government depending on your performance in TNEA as well as semester exams. Loans are available from various banks.

Placements

Internships are pretty good and the companies also offer a stipend. You can opt for government internships or private companies. Placement is 100 % in our college. The average salary package offered last year was around 3 lakhs and it went upto 12 lakhs per annum. Lots of MNC's come to the college during placements- Amazon, Bosch, TCS, Mahindra, JK tyres, Wipro etc.

Hostel and Facilities

You have to opt for 4 people occupancy rooms in the hostel. There is wifi in the hostel and the hostel food is good enough although its mainly South Indian vegetarian food. Hostel fees come around to approximately Rs 52,000 per semester.

Most faculty members have got their Ph.D’s. They highly competent and provide in depth knowledge about the courses. The faculties are supportive and motivate us to do better in academics and life.

The college has lots of amazing facilities like a gym, a book store within campus and cafeteria. There is also 23 acres of grounds for a variety of sports like - cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, athletics, kho kho etc. There are numerous clubs to choose from- Dance club, Drama club, Automobile club, Debate club, Innovators club etc.

The admission to Kumaraguru college of Engineering in the UG course is done from a merit list and that of PG is done through TANCET which is administered by the Anna University.

There are 6 clubs namely arts, entrepreneurship, literature, national cadet corps, social and technical in the college which undertake different festivals. There is a lit of choice for students to choose from. There are two separate hostels for boys and girls which can accommodate 1335 and 985 students respectively. The beds are triple-shared among the students. The mess charges Rs. 95 + taxes per meal for the students and I think Rs. 40 per meal for the staffs. During the middle of the last week of each month, a gala dinner is served to the hostellers. They also have numerous facilities such as bank, book store, Mahatma Gandhi study centre, Wi-Fi etc.

Kumaraguru College of Technology has a good Placement Cell. I am pursuing B.Tech in Civil Engineering for which my marks in 10+2 were evaluated. The Anna University is responsible for the admission criteria which is merit based.

Internships for summer are available and project internships lasting for six months are offered too. Accenture, Dell, The Elitists, HP and other well known companies recruit from here.

I must say, KCT has fulfilled all prerequisites. It has a bank, book store, gym, library, health room, separate hostels and dining halls, a big cafeteria with a delicious menu. The meditation room called “Dhyana Mandapam” is quite a rejuvenating space. Creativity is encouraged on campus. For this purpose a number of clubs are available, such as: Dance, Music, Fine Arts Clubs, Sahitya and Humour Clubs, National Cadet Corps , Youth Red Cross, Nature Club, Rotaract Club (social clubs), Technical Clubs.

The Tamil Nadu government makes admissions through a common merit list published by Anna University after the declaration of Higher Secondary exams.

The boys' hostel has 4 blocks with 445 rooms, accommodating 1335 students. The girls' hostel has 3 blocks with 329 rooms, accommodating 987 students. All the rooms are on triple sharing basis. The college mess provides pure vegetarian food and the hostel students must take mess membership. The mess charges are INR 2945 per month. There are 4 dining halls each for the boys and girls.

The campus and hostels are wi-fi enabled and the campus has more than 1000 computers, each department has its own well equipped laboratory. The central library has a lot of books. Other facilities include- bookstore, gym, student sports centre, medical centre, cafeteria and transport. The college has clubs of varying categories- dance and music clubs, entrepreneurship club, social clubs such as NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross, literary clubs and technical clubs such as a HAM club.

Kumarguru College of Engineering is a privately run college. The admission process here is moderately difficult as the college only considers your 10+2 marks in PCM. If you have a good score you can easily secure a descent rank in the common merit list.

Fees

Rs.3,40,000 is the fees which a B.E in Civil Engineering students pays for the programe of four years.

Placements

The college offers good career advice programmes for all students and the placement facilities available in campus makes sure that students get trained with the best of the soft skills before they appear for interactions with companies.

KCE has a beautiful college campus with an on-campus Hostel. There are four Hostel Blocks for Boys and three blocks for girls. My favorite is the College library. Almost 80% of the students gets placed every year with maximum placement in IT sector. The average package offered is of rupees 6 lakhs per annum. The college's placement cell has strong bond with almost 10 companies such as Amazon, Bosch etc. We do not have any on campus internship opportunity but the college helps us with off campus internship with reputed firms such as BSNL etc.

College offers few scholarship to some of its meritorious students based on their performances in the academic exams,10 students from every class get Rs. 10,000 every year based on their performance.

Faculty of the college is very good, providing a friendly environment for the students to learn. Seminars, activities and assignments organised by the teachers provides us all opportunity to learn things differently. 75% attendance is compulsory for all the students.

There are more than 50 clubs with most notable NCC, NSS, Tamil club, Rotaract, and photography in the college. Yugam is the event which happens every year for 3 days during February, and students from other colleges participate in it. Every year, almost 5000 students come for pro-shows, talks. Seminars happen in the college. Other events such as essay writing, poetry competition etc are held in English , Hind or regional languages.

I got admitted into the college based on EAMCET score. I scored 62 marks and got admission through counseling. Though, management quota is also available and students can get admission through that too.

Fees

The fees of B.Tech is Rs.80,000 per year. The college provides with scholarships and education loan facilities. Scholarships are provided to the top 10 scorers every odd semester under Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship.

Placements

KCT offers placement opportunities in firms like Mahindra, JK Tyres, Cameron, Bosch, etc. The college also provides with internships, individual staff from each department is allotted to arrange internships.
