Parisutham Institute Of Technology And Science (PITS) Thanjavur

Parisutham Institute of Technology and Science is located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It is a private institute established in 2008 by Mr. S P Anthonisamy. The institute is commonly referred to as PITS. The campus covers 50 acres.

Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Anna University of Technology, Chennai since its establishment. It received "Autonomous" status from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the academic year 2023-2024.

PITS offers both Bachelor and Master degrees in Engineering. The available fields include Aeronautical Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The postgraduate options include Communication Systems, Computer Science, Power Systems and VLSI Design.

The student body consists of over 63000 individuals supported by a faculty of 80. The institute features a Finishing School that provides a four-year curriculum for engineering students.

PITS accepts TNEA for course admissions. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the institute with an 'A' grade in December 2021. The institute has been ranked among the best private engineering institutes in India by THE WEEK since 2015. It was ranked 213 out of 216 colleges in India in 2022.

Available facilities for students include a library with 15,000 books, separate hostels for boys and girls, a language lab and a student center. The student center offers different amenities like a cafeteria, refectory, gymnasium and recreational facilities. 

Placements - The college has reported that 85% to 90% of students secure placements through campus interviews annually. Approximately 10 to 13 corporate companies conduct recruitment on campus each year.
