Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (

SIET) was established in 2006 and is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. It has been approved by AICTE and has also received NBA accreditation for several of its courses.

It has set up special centers of excellence in collaboration with the following companies- Virtusa, Polaris, Siemens, Prestige, , Ducen, Gyanmatrix, LabVIEW, Barry Wehmiller, 3W Technologies and IESA.

The institute offers B. E. courses in- Aeronautical engineering, Biomedical engineering, Civil engineering, Computer science and engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, Electrical and electronics engineering and Mechanical engineering.

B. Tech courses are offered in- Biotechnology, Food technology and in Information Technology.

Entry to the B. E. and B. Tech courses is based on the rank in the TNEA entrance examination.

Post graduate courses are offered in- Computer science and engineering, Communication system, Power Electronics and drives, CAD/CAM, VLSI design, Engineering design and Embedded systems technologies.

The institute also offers an MCA program.

The institute provides excellent facilities on campus for the students. The campus has special advanced departmental laboratories as follows- Siemens Industrial Automation laboratory, ARM embedded systems laboratory, Cadence VLSI design laboratory, ISTQB software testing laboratory, EMC Cloud computing laboratory and Sri Shakthi Mobile Applications development laboratory.

The campus has 3 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls.

The institute has a very good training and placement team and students have been placed with companies such as- Amazon, Chennai Metro, Imagica, Hindustan Foundry, Agnito systems.

Application and Admission Procedure

1. Candidates can register themselves on the official website of TNEA or by getting the application form from any TNEA centre or by post.
2. Candidates need to fill in their personal and academic details.
3. Registration fee of Rs.700 needs to be paid either through online or offline mode (Rs.450 for reserved categories).
4. Required documents- 10^th and 12^th mark sheet, transfer certificate, demand draft, permanent community certificate, domicile certificate, character certificate, migration certificate, identity proof, income certificate, recent passport size certificate and graduation mark sheet (if applicable).

Hostel and Facilities

HOSTEL

There are 3 hostels for boys having a capacity of 831 students and 1 hostel for girls in SIET which can accommodate 350 girls. Various amenities like mattress, pillows, steel cot, individual cupboards, study table, chair and other necessary things are given to the students.

For entertainment a LCD Television, reading room, WI-FI and facilities for indoor games are provided. A swimming pool which is open for girls only is also there.

Fees of hostel are around Rs 55,000, which includes food and accommodation.
