Sethu Institute Of Technology Virudhunagar

Sethi Institute of Technology (SIT) is an autonomous engineering college located in Pulloor, Kariapatti in Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu. The institute is a private and unaided college. SIT was founded in 1995 by the Sethu Educational Trust.

The college spans 132 acres. It offers 11 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate engineering courses. PhD programs are available in 5 science and technology departments. Major engineering specializations include Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Civil Engineering, among others. The college has approximately 4,800 students enrolled.

SIT is affiliated with Anna University. The institute provides amenities like a library, sports facilities, hostels, a canteen, an auditorium and laboratories. For admissions SIT accepts scores from TNEA and TANCET exams but does not conduct its own entrance test.

SIT holds accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and has received an 'A' grade from NAAC. It is also recognized by UGC. According to surveys, SIT was ranked 249th for B Tech by India Today and 118th by Outlook among engineering colleges.

Institute has organized international conferences and received funding from AICTE, ICMR, DST and DRDO. In terms of placements, around 80% of students with a CGPA of 6.00 or higher secure job offers from companies like TCS, WIPRO and Accenture. These offers typically range from 2 LPA to 9 LPA.
