Jeppiaar Engineering College was founded in the year 2001, and is situated in Chennai. The college is affiliated to the Anna University, Tamil Nadu and is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.
The College offers 7 courses in B.E, 2 in B.Tech, 4 specializations for M.E, 1 for M.Tech and an MBA. Interested Candidates can apply using their 10+2 score, which should be a minimum of 50%.
For B.Tech and B.E admissions to the college, students have to apply through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Counseling, conducted by the Anna University. Whereas for M.B.A/ M.Tech/M.E courses, TANCET exam should be taken by the applicants for the admissions.

Hostel and Facilities
Hostel Facility:
This college provides separate hostel facility to its boys’ students as well as girls students. All the hostel rooms are spacious, well furnished and along with attached bathrooms. All the bathrooms have water heaters.
The hostels have their own mess along with spacious modern kitchen and dining hall.
The hostel facilities include:
- Free washing and ironing
- Round the clock power back up
- RO water purifier which is connected to the cooler
- Recreation room
Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, there is STD /ISD telephone facility in each hostel. Moreover, all the rooms have intercom facilities too.

This college is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It offers various other facilities like a well-stocked library, well-equipped gym, indoor stadium and other outdoor sports facilities.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at Jeppiaar Engineering College, Chennai students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.

The management of the college has been very understanding and cooperative understanding. The faculty here has been unbiased and also they do not just believe in teaching from the text and use practail exams and also modern teaching methods to teachh this is something i liked a lot about the college.
Entrance Exam
'I wrote AIEEE Examination, and I got Pass Mark there. I joined this college this is the best at my cut off score so I decide this college.
Fees
Fee structure is very flexible compared to the facilities the college provide. It was like worth for money. Good food, Great Infrastructure, Descent placements, Bus travel or Hostel room everything is maintained properly. Perfect college for middle class family students.
Placements
The placement of the college is decent. Though the management should bring in more companies from the non IT sector. If you want to choose other firms apart from IT, it is very tough to be placed as only a few companies will come and the number of recruitment also will be very low. There should be a lot more exposure in the placement section by the college managemnet.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel facilities were good and proper cleaning is done daily. Each room has 4 beds and it was spacious too. Mess food is good with average hygiene level since made in large quantities. Since mostly south India people are studying in my college; delicious veg and non veg foods are available throughout a week. Food is provided 2 times for day scholars and 3 times for hostelers. Tea breaks are also there.
Alumni
Every year from various batches people will come to the alumni meet and I saw people still in contact with each other. Senior students help their juniors for getting job opportunities.
Faculty
The faculty here has been unbiased and also they do not just believe in teaching from the text and use practail exams and also modern teaching methods to teachh this is something i liked a lot about the college.
Campus Life
Then gender ratio of the college has been almost the same. Though this varies from course to course and department to department. be Campus life is good, somewhat strict rules like mobile not allowed, should not speak to opposite gender and dress codes. But believe me all those will help one to shape into a good person in life. Diversity is a little bit low as most of the people will come from the same state. They give importance to sports students and fees will not be collected from them. Good, Healthy food and proper training is given to them at free of cost.
Academics
Internships
Not all students get internship but yeah a good section does get internships. The average internship stipend offered was around Rs 5-15k.
Loans and Scholarships
Scholarships are provided by anna university and in my college they help students from poor background and they offer a reduction in fees price for them or give them sufficient amount of time to pay. They also recommend loans to take from Indian Bank present inside the campus
