Royal College of Engineering Technology was established in the year 2003 and is located in Thrissur, Kerela, India. The institute is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam technological university of Calicut.

The college campus is vast with the top-notch facilities and accommodates the boys as well as the girl’s hostel. The basic infrastructure is provided to the students with good ambience and a better learning environment. There are libraries, conference rooms, seminar halls, halls for workshops, auditorium, laboratories, and much more within the campus.

The campus is divided into various blocks which are further segregated into departments for the ease and convenience of the students. The recent campus has two additional branches i.e. mechanical engineering and electrical and electronics engineering which also has an intake of 60 students each.

The institute started with the four branches i.e. CSE, CIVIL, AE& I, ECE departments with an intake of 60 students each. It was established under the royal educational society as the basic research centre initially.

The Royal college of engineering and technology,Thrissur, offers both B.Tech and M.Tech programs in various disciplines.

B.Tech

For admission into the B.tech, the candidates need to be 17 years of age as on 31.12.2017. They also need to have passed their Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry combined together. They must also be listed in the KEAM merit list.

M.Tech

For eligibility to the M.Tech courses, general candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in the Engineering degree examination,SEBC candidates need 54% and SC/ST candidates need only a pass percentage.

The college provides scholarships to meritorious students from economically backward communities who secure A+ / A in the higher secondary examination and who also qualify in the Royal scholarship test, “Calidad engineers”.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel facilities

The institute has its own hostel arrangements within the campus for both boys and girls. The hostels are able to accommodate 150 boys and 300 girls. Matrons and resident tutors are responsible for the maintenance of internal hostel discipline and the overall hostel control is exercised by the warden.

• Three large conference halls covering a total area of 4000 sq.ft. These halls are fully air conditioned and have an LCD projector, a slide projector and a head projector. These halls host guest lectures, seminars, placement and training workshops.
• A fully automated central library with 6682 books, 41 international journals, 76 national journals, 859 e-journal subscriptions, 145 IEEE e-journals, 26 magazines, 10 newspapers and a reading hall.

The college organizes campus workshops, placements and industrial visits such as visits to the Chennai Port Trust, Hindustan Unilever-Chennai, Nippo Batteries and more.

The National Service Scheme has a tech unit within the campus with its own nature club and blood donors’ forum. The students have various clubs and take part in cultural programs and inter collegiate sports meets several times a year.
