Ssm Polytechnic College Namakkal

SSM Polytechnic College is located in Komarapalayam in Namakkal District in Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1979 as a government-aided institute. 

College offers six diploma programs in textiles. The diploma courses in textiles include Textile Technology, Textile Processing, Textile Technology (Design and Weaving), Textile Technology (Man Made Fibres), Textile Marketing & Management and Garment Technology. Self-financed courses include Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. The flagship program is the Diploma in Textile Technology.

College enrolls over 1,000 students and employs more than 120 faculty members. SSM Polytechnic College is affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala State.

Campus facilities include a canteen, sports grounds, practical labs, a seminar hall, workshops, a convenience store and a medical facility. For admission the college accepts marks from Tamil Nadu 10th and CBSE 10th exams.

The college is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and was the first polytechnic in Kerala to receive accreditation for all six branches from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in one visit.

SSM Polytechnic College participates in different tech collaborations including Poly-Hack Students' Community GTech Mulearn and others.
