Fee Structure Of GEC, Raichur-Government Engineering College
Government Engineering College, located at Raichur, in Karnataka was founded in the year 2007. The institution is run by the government of Karnataka and is affiliated to the Visveraya Institute of Technology (VIT), Karnataka.
The College offers B.Tech degree for the subjects, Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Interested students need to check the guidelines and norms formed by the VIT for information regarding admissions. Applicants will be selected based on their 10+2 marks further to which the shortlisted candidates will be called for a counseling process conducted by the University. After this process based on marks and availability students would be given admission for their desired course.
In addition to the school marks, candidates are also shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) or through the COMEDK UGET.
The infrastructure of the college includes classrooms with projectors and audio visual equipment, well resourced library, 24 by 7 medical facilities and advanced research laboratories.
Application and Admission Procedure
Admission Process
The college falls under the Department of Technical Education in Karnataka and conducts about 36 fulltime diploma programs. It is monitored by Directorate of Technical Education who has set up a Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to carry out the admission process to the various programs.
The candidate is required to download the application form and info book (it has instructions on how to fill the form) from the official links of KEA. Of the total admissions, 50% are based on merit obtained in SSLC (at least 35%) while the rest are reserved for various groups in the society. Candidates are strongly advised to thoroughly go through the admission brochure for more details.
The mode of application is online. The interested candidates are required to access the ‘Diploma Access 2017-2018 portal’ and register by making an ID after which they can download the application form and other documents (admission brochure). The application is to be submitted online.
The fees for the Diploma admissions varies depending on the type of college from Rs. 4,130/- to Rs.12, 830/-. In addition NSS unit is required to pay Rs. 40/- and Non NSS units Rs. 50 along with other fees.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
- There are separate hostels for boys and girls in GECR.
- 400 students (male) can be accommodated in the boys’ hostel and 250 students in the girls’ hostel.
Facilities
Library: The Central Library is one of the central support services of GECR. The library provides electronic access to various full text and bibliographical records databases.
The Central library is well equipped online facilities and resources in the form of discs, online databases, journals, e-books, books, journals, project reports etc.
Smart Classrooms: The smart classes are specially designed to enable students with audio-video and image learning.
