Central Institute of Technology

The Central Institute of Technology is situated in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in the state of Assam. This institute was founded in 2006 under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource and Development.

The main aim of this institute is to make the educational facilities available to the Bodo people for their cultural, economic and overall development. It provides the way to the Bodo people for attaining technical and vocational education.

Application and Admission Procedure

Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar is situated in Kokrajhar District of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Assam. It is a Centrally Funded Institute under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It is affiliated to Gauhati University.

The Institute offers the following programmes-

B.Tech

• Civil Engineering

Out of the total seats available for admission into the first semester of B. Tech, 40% of the seats are offered to candidates who have appeared in JEE Main 2018 whereas the remaining 60% of the seats are filled through Central Institute of Technology Degree Entrance Examination (CITDEE).

Eligibility: Educational Qualifications: Candidate must have passed 10+2 (Science)or equivalent with a minimum of 45% in the aggregate and 50% of marks for GEN/OBC candidates(45% of marks for St/SC/PH candidates) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.

B.Des

The candidate has to clear the CITBDAT-2017 entrance examination followed by counselling at CIT, Kokrahar. The second way is by applying, appearing and has to qualify in UCEED-2017 conducted by IIT BOMBAY. Seat allocation to CITBDAT qualified candidates and UCEED qualified candidates will be published on website.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce) or an equivalent examination from any institute approved by Board/AICTE/ Recognized University with not less than 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST).

Diploma in Engineering

The CITEE is an entrance test conducted by CIT for admission to Diploma course of study in six different branches of engineering in CIT, Kokrajhar.

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with a minimum of 45% in the aggregate and 50% of marks for GEN/OBC (45% of marks for ST/SC/PH candidates) in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics) and English taken together.

Hostel and Facilities

Central Institute of Technology is a well-known institute in Kokrajhar.

Hostel Facility

This reputed college provides separate hostel facility for the boys and girls. At present, it has total 12 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels which are spread over various parts of Kokrajhar town.

Some hostels are situated on the main campus. All hostel rooms are spacious and well furnished. All rooms have 24 hours electricity connection and water connection and internet accessibility. Each hostel has a separate mess and dining space.

All Messes serve healthy and good food. The hygienic part is well maintained here. Apart from this, there is a canteen as well.

Other Facility

The classrooms are spacious and well equipped with all modern facilities. It provides some excellent faculties. Apart from these, It has an extensive library which a vast collection of books, journals, CDs etc.

It has various labs for different subjects. Moreover, its laboratories are well organized and well equipped. It also provides some indoor as well as outdoor sports facilities to its students. This college provides transport facility to its students and staffs.

At present, there are 4 buses which run between different campuses of this college. This college provides a very good academic environment to its students.
