Malnad College of Engineering was established in the year 1960, during the second 5 year plan, as a joint venture of Government of India, Government of Karnataka and the Malnad Technical Education Society. It is built on the 41.2 acres of land with all the necessary modern facilities.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply?

Students have to apply via online mode. They must register themselves on the admissions portal given in the college website. Candidates must fill in the form online and upload the soft copies of required documents. No information is available regarding application fees.

Students have to apply online for the exam. Application fees for the exam is Rs. 650/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST) which has to be paid online.

• KCET scores/ GATE scores
• Migration certificate
• Income certificate
• Passport size photograph and signature

Admission Procedure

Students must have minimum 65% marks in class 12 exams (PCM) to be eligible for KCET. The registration for the examination starts from February and the exam is conducted in the middle of April.

Admission to PG courses depend on GATE scores and marks obtained in B.E. /B.Tech. degree.

Hostel and Facilities

HOSTEL

Boys Hostel

The hostel consists of three blocks; Hoysala, Hemavathi, and Hasanamba. They accommodate 600 to 625 students in 324 rooms. There are water closets with aqua guard in each block.

All the rooms have cots, tables, chairs and ceiling fans. Internet browsing centre is provided within the hostel. 24 hours water supply and generator facility is available. Two TV rooms as well as indoor games are also available.

Girls Hostel

It accommodates 250 students. Boarding and lodging facilities are provided to the students. The students get bus service from hostel to college. Internet facility is provided to all the students.

CAMPUS FACILITIES

The campus provides various facilities like a library with more than 95478 books and a reference section. It also has several journals. E-library facility is also provided to the students to access online journals.

There is also a language lab with three modules- English, Career and Aptitude.
