Oxford College of Engineering was established in 1974 under the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), recognized by the Government of Karnataka. It is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), NAAC, NBA and IAO.
The institute offers courses like the following-
- B.E. in streams such as Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Bio-Technology, etc.
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
- Masters in Computer Applications (MCA)
- M.Tech in various streams like Power Electronics, Digital Electronics and Communication, Machine Design, etc.
- Bachelors in Architecture (B.Arch)
Admissions for B.E. requires minimum of 45% aggregate, with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory. All postgraduate courses require graduation with a minimum of 50%.
The college campus is spread over 6.25 acres, and is 10km from the centre of the city. It has facilities like library, hostel, gymnasium and transport.
Companies like Microsoft, Oracle and TCS have recruited from the college.

Hostel and Facilities
The campus of the Oxford College of Engineering is spread over an area of 10.5 acres. New block and Old block of the campus is extensively used for the curriculum purpose with an additional land used for Cafeteria, Sports, Hostel and Gymnasium. The two blocks are connected to the third floor by an overhead bridge.
The library consists of almost 50000 volumes of books which consist of both PG and UG engineering. The library working hours are generally from 9 am to 10 pm during weekdays and from 9 am to 8 pm on Saturday. E-Learning facility is available which has been developed by the CSE department. Latest fitness equipments are available in the multi Gym from 6 am onwards.
3 separate hostels for boys, girls and NRI boys are available. Around 350 students can be accommodated. Recreation room, power backup, library and internet connection are available in the hostel.
