Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is located in Kalyani, West Bengal. The Government of West Bengal established the college in 1995. KGEC is a government institute. It is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology.

KGEC is situated on University of Kalyani Campus. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The B.Tech program is the flagship course. Specializations in B.Tech include Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The postgraduate programs encompass M.Tech in similar fields and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

M.Tech admissions require the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). MCA program admits students based on West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam for Computer Applications (JECA).

KGEC holds approvals from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India. The institute achieved rankings like 69th in the all-India rankings of Top 100 Engineering Colleges in 2012. Telegraph survey ranked KGEC as 4th best engineering institute in West Bengal admitting through WBJEE. In 2023, IIRF ranked it 152 out of 170 colleges in India for BTech
