Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) is one of the first institutions of India dedicated primarily to Management Studies. This first B-School of our country was founded in the year 1953, under the collaboration of the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal and the Government of India.

The School offers MBA, M.Phil, PGDM, Ph.D, along with many other short programs, across several Management disciplines. The institution is affiliated to the University of Calcutta and additionally the MBA courses are approved by the AICTE.

It is also one of the few universities in India, offering PG Diploma in Sports Management.

The MBA aspirants and the candidates seeking admission for the Master of HR Management program can apply for the course using their valid CAT scores, upon which the selected students will be called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. For the rest of the courses, the college either conducts entrance examination or selects students through the GD-PI round.

The B-School has been constantly ranked under the top 50 category, with the Business Today giving it the 40th rank, and the Economic Times placing it on 37th position.

The institute currently has 1200 students and has been setup on a modern state-of-the-art campus with student activity centres, library, gym and well equipped hostels.

Campus Facility

The Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management (IISWBM) is a graduate business school located in Kolkata. This institute provides one of the best well-stocked libraries along with the digital resource center.

The campus has Superior IT facilities with 50 works stations. Other facilities include canteen, gymnasium, language lab, and student activity center. Sports facilities are provided for both indoor as well as outdoor games. A dispensary with qualified doctor is also available on the campus.

Hostel Facility

Different hostels are available for boys and girls. Each hostel provides 2-seater and 3-seater rooms with attached bathrooms. Hostel facilities include a large dining hall, kitchen, common room, a television room, terrace and recreational room. It also provides facilities like a microwave, refrigerator, water cooler, and purifiers. Round the clock security is available at the hostels.

Debate competitions, seminars and cultural meets form the extracurricular activities of the students in this institution.
