National Academy of legal studies and research (NALSAR) was established in 1998 by Statute of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The university intends to use law as an agent of social change for land rights, disability empowerment moral policing and hate speech.
It is a Grade ‘A’ accredited university with a score of 3.60 on a 4 point NAAC scale.
They offer various degree and diploma courses in the disciplines of law, social sciences, human tires and management studies.

Admission to courses is through test conducted by the university. The candidates opting for PG courses are also selected based on merit of the entrance test.
Those who have already qualified UGC NET/ JRF/ SLET/ M.Phil as per the regulations are exempted from the University entrance test.
There are different student bodies managing placements for UG, PG (LAW), PG (business administration) respectively.

Hostel:
The Nalsar University of law is spread over a large area of55 acres. The university campus is surrounded by the heart stealing landscape. It provides a separate hostel for boys and girls as well. All rooms are spacious, airy, furnished and with all modern facilities like 24 hours electric supply, water supply, internet accessibility etc. The hostel mess serves good, fresh and nutritious food to its students. The hygiene part is well maintained in the hostel kitchen. Moreover, every hostel has a common room with cable TV connection and various indoor sports facilities such as table tennis, carom chess etc. The hostel security is very well managed.
Other Facilities:
This law university offers various outdoor sports facilities like volleyball courts, tennis courts, badminton court, football ground, cricket ground etc. There is a well-equipped gym, library, reading room. There is a large auditorium on this campus. Apart from these, there is an ATM on this campus.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
