Situated in Mira Road, Mumbai, the N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 1995 under the aegis of N.L. Dalmia Educational Society and started its academic program in 1997. The institute offers two full time management courses- Masters of Management Studies (MMS) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM); three part time courses as well and a Doctorate Degree as well.

About the MMS ProgramSpanning over 2 years and 4 semester, the Masters in Management studies Program offered at NIMSR is a full time program constituting 26 compulsory courses and 11 courses based on the electives opted by the students. The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The electives offered are:

EligibilityThe applicant must have completed his/her graduation with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved categories). Those awaiting the final results shall be granted provisional admission subject to attaining 50% aggregate (45%for reserved categories) in the exams. There is no age restriction for admission into the MMS program.
For application under the Maharashtra Seat, the candidate must qualify the guidelines stipulated by DTE (refer: http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/MBA2015/OasisModules_Files/Files/94.pdf?did=1384) , should be an Indian national and should have appeared for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET*.
For application under the all India seat, the applicant must be an Indian National and should have appeared for CAT/GMAT/CMAT/MATXAT/ATMA/MAH-MBA/MMS-CET*.
*The applicants must have secured non-zero positive marks in the exam they appeared for.

How to ApplyThe aspirants can register for CET by applying at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mba2015 and paying a registration fees of Rs.1,000 (Rs.800 for reserved categories and physically handicapped applicants belonging to Maharashtra).
Admission ProcedureThe admission procedure is centralized and is in the hands of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). DTE usually follows the following process:
- Applicants are required to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET).
- Selected candidates are called in for a Group Discussion round.
- Finally, the applicants go through a Personal Interview (PI).
DTE conducts 3 rounds of counseling (the third round being exclusively for eligible Maharashtra State Candidates).
*The centers are notified by DTE.
Cut offFor the year 2013-14, the cut off for CAP seats was 209 (177 for minority seats).

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at N.l.dalmia Institute Of Management Studies And Research students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
