Oxford College of Engineering, a college in Bangalore was established in 2000. It is under the VTU,Visvesvaraya Technological University and is recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The institute is affiliated to All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
It offers graduate as well as post graduate courses. The MBA Programme was started in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 students. At present, a strength of 180 students are pursuing MBA from this institute.
The Department offers dual specialization in the following streams:

The institute offers several in campus facilities like library, auditorium, transportation etc. Centralized air-conditioned computer lab equipped with 120 computers and internet facility is provided through Wi-Fi network system.
Admission to the institute solely depends on merit, as per the directives of the Government of Karnataka from time to time, both to the Government Quota and the Management Quota.3 years Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any recognized University with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) of all subjects, including languages.
The institute has had an excellent record of placements by placing it students in highly reputed companies such as Oracle, Hp, Wipro, Flipkart, Biocon, etc.

Cutoff and Placements
Oxford College of Engineering’s Placement Department was established in the year 2000. Ms. D Vijaylakshmi Rao is its current manager. An aggregate of 85% students have been placed through the department over the years.
Placement procedure
- Students are provided with Soft Skills Training and English Language Proficiency Training at the inception of first year.
- Technical training through certificate courses, mock interviews, and technical lectures are provided to students entering in the final year of their
- degree courses.
- The Training and Placement Manager supervises with each department’s officers and student representatives to facilitate the induction, tests, interviews and group discussions. They are specially taught to crack the Higher Aptitude Test.
Separate Training is provided for the Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test (AMCAT), GRE, TOEFL, NET, GATE exams.
Oxford College’s alumni have been placed in companies like IBM, Google and other major names. The average package goes up to 3 lakh per annum.

Application and Admission Procedure
How to apply?
Students can only apply online by visiting official website of the college.
The aspiring candidates must fill up the application form online with personal details and upload the soft copy of documents that are required. Since admission to MBA programme depends on CMAT score the applicants must upload their score with valid documents.
Applicants need to pay Rs. 350/- via online payment while applying. The application fees of the CMAT exam is Rs. 1400 and Rs. 700 for SC/ST/Women/PWD which have to be paid via online payment.

Admission Procedure
Admission to the MBA programme depends CMATs score which is a National level Entrance exam conducted by the AICTE. Students must obtain 50% marks in any UG course to be eligible for the exam. Online registration for the exam starts in October and ends in December.
NOTE
The college gives preference to students residing in Kerala for final round of selection.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
Total 2 hostels are there. 1 is for boys and another is for its girl’s students. All the hostel rooms are well furnished. Single, Double and triple occupancy rooms are available here. The students can also choose to live in a dormitory.
The hostel fee is around Rs 7,000 per month. Moreover, hostel mess provides food at free of cost to its students.

Apart from that, it has 24 hours security. The warden is the in charge of hostel discipline and administration.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at The Oxford College Of Engineering - Mba Programme students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
