Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belgaum

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is located in Belgaum. It is a state public university. It was established in 1994. VTU is one of largest technological universities in India. The campus is 378 acres in size. 

VTU focuses on engineering, technology and allied sciences. VTU offers 37 undergraduate programs, 96 postgraduate programs and research programs for PhD and MSc (Engg.). Flagship programs include BTech, MTech and MCA.

The student population includes around 3 lakh engineering students. VTU has 182 affiliated colleges, one constituent college and 25 autonomous colleges.

Facilities at VTU include medical support, a sports complex, a library, practical labs, IT centers and an auditorium.

Admission to VTU requires entrance test scores. KCET and COMEDK-UGET are needed for undergraduate admissions. For postgraduate programs, GATE, KMAT, NATA and PGCET scores are accepted.

VTU is recognized by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. It has a Grade "B++" certification from NAAC and is a member of AIU.

In NIRF 2023 rankings, VTU holds following positions- 92nd overall, 63rd among universities, 52nd in engineering and 95th in management.

It has signed agreements with corporations like IBM, Intel, Ingersoll-Rand, Nokia, Bosch Rexroth and Microsoft.

Placement - More than 60% of each batch secures jobs. Top recruiters include KPMG, Infosys, Microsoft, L&T and Mindtree.
