Davangere University is a state public university in Karnataka. It was established in 1979. The university split from the University of Mysore and acted as a postgraduate center of Kuvempu University. Total campus area is 73 acres.

Davangere University offers many postgraduate programs in four faculties- Arts, Science & Technology, Commerce & Management and Education. It has 124 affiliated colleges including one constituent college and one autonomous college.

Admissions depend on candidate's performance in qualifying and entrance exams. University conducts its own entrance tests but also accepts scores from Karnataka PGCET, CMAT and KEA.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited Davangere University with a "B+" grade. University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

In terms of ranking, the university holds 438th place in India and 6895th globally for 2024.

Placements - In academic year 2020-21, one out of 39 undergraduate students secured a placement at an average package of 4.8 LPA. Among 995 postgraduate students 75 were placed with an average package of 2.5 LPA.
