Bangalore University is a state public university in Bangalore. It was established in 1964 as a branch of the University of Mysore.

Bangalore University is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. It is approved by University Grants Commission.

University offers courses in Arts, Science, Engineering, Management, Law and Education. It operates 48 postgraduate departments, a postgraduate center at Kolar, four constituent colleges and 684 affiliated colleges. The institute serves 8,535 students with the support of 755 academic staff.
