Sree Balaji Medical College And Hospital (SBMCH) Chennai

Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital is located in Chromepet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a private medical college. It was established in 2003. It spans 45 acres and is affiliated with Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research.

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses including MBBS and MD/MS programs. The MBBS program is the flagship course. College has over 25 departments of medical sciences.

There are more than 1000 students enrolled and 71 faculty members. Facilities include a research center, medical and nursing school, a hospital with 1250 beds and 15 operation theatres. The hospital serves over 20 specialties. Additional amenities include IT facilities, labs, a library, WIFI, hostels and a blood bank.

Admissions require National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

It holds accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approval from National Medical Commission (NMC). The institute ranked 98 out of 100 colleges in India in 2022 by the India Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) and ranked 7th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

International collaborations are in place with institutes like Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University (USA) and Bradford Teaching Hospital (UK). Institute achieved a 100% placement rate for PG (3-year) placements in 2021.
