Sona College Of Technology (SONA) Salem

Sona College of Technology is a private institute located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1997 by Thiru. MS Chockalingam. College is affiliated with Anna University.

The institute focuses on providing services in research, education, engineering, technology, management studies and computer applications. It offers 14 undergraduate and 14 graduate programs, including BE/B.Tech, Ph.D., MCA, MBA/PGDM and ME/MTech

The college has over 7000 students and more than 600 faculty members.

Facilities include a library, hostels, gymnasium, sports areas, cafeteria, medical services, Wi-Fi, IT infrastructure, transportation, swimming pool, convenience store, parking, guest rooms and banking services.

Admissions require scores from entrance exams like TANCET for M.E/M.Tech, MCA and MBA programs and TNEA for B.E/B.Tech programs. Institute is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and has received an "A" Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute is also approved by AICTE and UGC.

In rankings college's B.Tech program placed 151 out of 200 in NIRF 2023 rankings. According to India Today it ranked 84 out of 281 in 2023.

During the 2022 placement drive the average package was INR 5.01 LPA and the highest was INR 20 LPA. A total of 1387 offers were made by over 230 recruiters resulting in a placement rate of 98%.
