Thanthai Periyar Government Institute Of Technology (TPGIT) Vellore

The Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology (TPGIT) is a government engineering institute located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It was established in July 1990 and is one of the eleven government engineering colleges in the state. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Anna University.

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including BE, ME and MCA degrees. Undergraduate courses include BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. Postgraduate courses include ME in Applied Electronics and Manufacturing Engineering.

Institute provides many facilities like hostels for boys and girls, a library, sports facilities, a gym, a cafeteria, IT infrastructure, laboratories and a bank. The library offers many textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals and multimedia resources.

Admission to the BE program occurs through TNEA counseling conducted by Anna University. Postgraduate admissions require valid scores in TANCET or GATE. TPGIT is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and holds NBA accreditation status.

In 2023, TPGIT was ranked 151 out of 200 colleges in India by NIRF and 111 out of 170 colleges by IIRF.
