The Himalayan Institute of Technology (HIT) is located in Dehradun. It was established in 2001. HIT covers an area of 40 acres.

HIT is an affiliated college recognized by the Uttarakhand Government. It is approved by the UGC and the Ministry of HRD Government of India. HIT is affiliated with HNBG Central University and SDSU Uttarakhand Government University. HIT holds recognition from NAAC.

The institute offers many degree courses. These courses include Agriculture, Hospitality Management, Science, Computer Application and Commerce. HIT has over 5000 enrolled students. It employs more than 100 faculty members.
