The THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology is located in Bhagirathipuram, Tehri. It was established in 2011 and focuses on hydropower engineering and technology. Institute is a collaboration between THDC India Limited and Uttarakhand state government. It is situated near the Tehri Dam and occupies 40 acres of land.

The institute operates as a public entity and serves as a constituent college of Veer Madhao Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University. It holds approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute offers a Bachelor of Technology across six streams- Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science & Humanities. The B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is its flagship course.
