Alagappa Chettiar College Of Engineering And Technology, Karaikudi Sivaganga

The Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology (ACCET) is in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. The college started in 1952. It was founded by Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar. The campus covers 28 acres and supports engineering education.

ACCET is a government institute with autonomous status. It is affiliated with Anna University. 

ACCET offers undergraduate courses in BE and postgraduate courses in ME and MCA. BE program is available in full-time and part-time formats. Specializations in BE include Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

College has a substantial student-faculty ratio of 75. 

Facilities provided include transport, sports, medical services, a library, laboratories, IT infrastructure, an auditorium, a canteen and a nursery garden.

For admissions ACCET requires TNEA scores for BE programs. ME admission accepts CEETA PG scores. College is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Government of Tamil Nadu. It has accreditation from NBA and NAAC with a B++ grade.

In 2023 rankings from National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), ACCET was placed 151 out of 312 colleges in India. 

In 2023 235 students were placed. Top recruiters included TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Technologies.
