Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram was established in 1999. The college is fully owned by the Government of Kerala and is governed by Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut. It offers four year full-time under graduate courses which are accredited by AICTE in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology. The vision of the institute is to provide excellence through the wings of science and technology and their mission is to nurture world class technocrats with integrity, creativity and ethical values who can meet global challenges in the service of humanity.

Admission
Admission to the college is from the rank list prepared by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. Admission is conducted tentatively during July – August of each year.Sanctioned intake for various branches (ECE, CSE, IT,ME ), is 63 each. There is provision for lateral entry of Diploma Holders into the third semesters ( 6 seats per branch).
Admission to the M.Tech course is conducted every year by the Director of Technical Aducation from a common list of applicants based on the GATE score.
The institution is affiliated to the Calicut University. The university conducts the exams in the months of June and December every year
