Fee Structure Of GCE, Kannur-Government College Of Engineering

The Government College of Engineering, Kannur (GCEK) is a public institution founded in 1986, and affiliated to Kerala Technological University and Kannur University, Kerala. It has been duly approved by the AICTE and is one of the premier institutes among the 9 Government Engineering Colleges in Kerala.

The college has 8 departments offering B. Tech courses at the undergraduate level, M. Tech programs at the postgraduate level, as well as Ph.D. programs under the guidance of KTU and KU.

GCEKis spread across a sprawling 75-acre campus in Mangattuparamba, and offers facilities such as hostels for men and women, canteen, various sports and health amenities, well-equipped library, state-of-the-art laboratories as well as computing facilities.

The admission into UG and PG programs is granted on the basis of merit marks scored in Class 12^th and applicant’s Bachelor’s degree respectively, as well as scoring on the KEAM and GATE entrance exams respectively.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply?

To be eligible in UG programmes, the candidates have to secure at least 50% (45% for reserved category) from the institutions present only in Kerala and for the PG Programmes, a minimum of 60% is required.

The application process is as follows:

• Online mode:The candidates can apply for the interested course by logging on to Kerala CEE website. A copy of the printed application form must be sent to CEE board on or before the scheduled date.

There is no offline mode to apply for the procedure offline.

Documents required:

• Certificate to verify DOB
• Transfer and Conduct Certificate from the last institution attended.
• Pass Certificate (if obtained)
• Migration Certificate, if applicable
• Physical Fitness Certificate
• Receipt of fee remitted in the bank

Admission Procedure

In the UG Programme, for the admission into BE/B.Tech, KEAM score is mandatory.

In the PG Programme, for the admission into M.Tech, GATE score is mandatory.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel:

The college campus is aesthetic and spacious with an open air theatre, two auditoriums and accessory store

The campus has 4 hostel buildings of which 2 are reserved for men and 2 for women. The mess is one of the best in the state. Canteens and snack bars are available as well.

Power and water are supplied 24/7 and high speed wifi connection is available throughout day and night. The warden and security men are available at all times for safety of students.

A staff hostel is also available for the college staff.

Other facilities:

There is a gym, indoor games room, recreation room, seminar hall, cultural centre, computer lab and a resourceful library.

The college also runs sports, health and nature clubs, for students to participate in. There is guidance and counselling cell as well as placement cell for career progression.

The ISTE Students Chapter facilitates workshops for students on higher studies opportunities and interview skills.
