Welingkar Distance Learning MBA
WeSchool, of Welingkar Education was established in the year 1977 to provide management education. WeSchool is one of the top schools in the country offering distance education.

Welingkar Distance MBA admission 2024-25
Welingkar has 2 admission cycles every year – January and July. Each cycle also has a late batch where students who miss the deadline can join.
Last date to apply for Welingkar Distance MBA late batch of July 2024 cycle is 31st October 2024. Those who miss this date can apply in January 2025 cycle by 31st January 2025.

Distance MBA Admission Procedure
Welingkar offers a special Postgraduate Diploma course in Management through a Hybrid mode of learning. Admissions to Welingkar MBA are conducted in two cycles every year – January and July.
STEP 1 – Prospectus & Application form
The application form can be filled online on the institute website www.welingkaronline.org. The application may also be purchased directly from the institute by paying an amount of Rs. 500/-, or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favor of " Welingkar Institute of Management" payable at Mumbai.
STEP 2 – Submit Application form with Documents and Course Fee
The application form must be submitted with it the following enclosures:
- Graduate Degree/Provisional Certificate/ Final Marks Card attested by a Gazetted officer
- Two copies of Passport sized photographs
- Employment or Experience Certificate (if applicable)
- The course fee may be either paid in cash at any of the Welingkar’s counters or through Demand Drafts.
If the candidate is applying online, he will have to print the filled-in application form and submit it to the institute along with the required enclosures and the prescribed fees. The application form along with the enclosures in either case must be addressed to:

STEP 3 – Collect Course Material
Once registration is completed, the students will receive welcome kit with access to online study material. The student will also receive first year study material consisting of 9 books.
Welingkar Distance MBA Fee Structure 2024-25
Welingkar Distance MBA fee is Rs. 1,26, 000/- for the two years without PCP (Personal Contact Program). The fee with PCP is Rs. 1,29,600/-.
The students can also pay the fees in 2 annual installments of Rs. 66,000/- and Rs.65,000. Students interested in PCP can pay in two installments of Rs.69,6000/- and Rs.65,000/-.

There are additional charges of Rs.3600/- for PCP to be paid at the time of admission.
NRI and international students can enroll into the course by paying $2000 as course fee. If they decide to pay in INR, the fee is Rs. 1,50,000/-
The Institute provides flexibility in fee payment modes and the student may pay in cash at the counter, through Demand Draft, or through Debit/Credit card / Net Banking online. Cheque or DD should be in favor of ‘Welingkar Institute of Management’ payable at Mumbai.
Student can cancel admission within 45 days after registration. A written cancellation application should be sent along study material and fee receipt challan. The refund depends on when cancellation application was made –

Program Overview
Welingkar offers hybrid PGDM which is a 2 year course that can be completed in maximum 4 years. The institute also offers distance PGDM programs that can be completed in 11 months. These programs are autonomous programs designed by the institute. The institute offer following specializations based on courses taken in last 2 semesters
Award of certificates
In 2-year course, students have multiple exit options.

- Students dropping out after 1 year of the course will get Advanced Diploma in Business Administration certificate in soft copy format. Hard copy will not be sent.
- On completing the full course over the two year period, students will be given the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Specialization) – Hybrid Program (PGDM – Specialization – HB) certificate. The certificate will be sent in hard copy format.
Scholarships
The institute requires that all the students pay the full tuition amount, and does not offer any kind of scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
The student should be a graduate from any recognized university in India. In case of an international degree, the university offering it should be approved by AIU / UGC / IGNOU or by any other international associations like EQUIS, AACSB or AMBA.
Students with CA, ICWA degree or those with diploma from Welingkar are eligible for a waiver in certain subjects in first 2 semesters.

Study Material
Printed Material – Printed study material is sent to the student on their postal address. For some subjects, study material is offered only as eBooks.
E-Books – The study materials is available to the students in form ebooks, presentations that can be download anytime and accessed from anywhere.
E-Learning Tool-Kit – These are online study resources consisting of chaper-wise summary, power point presentations, online tests.
Online Video Lectures – Pre-recorded lectures on various subjects can be accessed online.
Virtual Classrooms – To make it easy for students to learn from anywhere, institute offers VCF (virtual classroom facility). The student need a laptop / computer with speaker and mike so that they can interact with faculty and other students during the session.
These live lectures are conducted twice a week from 7pm to 9:30pm. In the first year, total 80 hours of virtual classrooms are conducted.
Personal Contact Program
PCP consists of regular classrooms sessions where important concept from each subject are taught by the faculty. Student need to visit the Mumbai campus of the institute to attend these sessions.
Salient features of PCP –
- PCP is conducted for 6 days in each semester
- It is conducted 4 times a year before mid-term and final semester exams
- 7 hours are allotted for each subject
- Students should attend PCP after reading the course material since only advanced concepts are discussed
- PCP charges of Rs.3,600/- should be paid either at the time of admission. Otherwise students can pay Rs.400/- per subject later.
Approval
Welingkar Institute’s PGDM courses are approved by the erstwhile DEC (Distance Education Council), set up to assess distance education institutes. Furthermore the institute is also recognized and approved by the joint committee of UGC-AICTE-DEC in the year of 2009.
The distance diploma programs are also recognized and approved by NBA (National Board of Accreditation), AICTE, and Mumbai University.

No, students don’t need to appear for GD/PI. The admission is based on satisfying eligibility criteria. There is no separate entrance. - What is the application process?
