Diamond Harbour Women's University (DHWU) is a public university located in Diamond Harbour, West Bengal. University was established in 2012 and is first women's university in Eastern India.

DHWU offers many postgraduate and doctoral courses. It initiated its programmes in 2014 with six two-year postgraduate subjects including Bengali and Education. Over time it added more subjects like Geography and Physics. University began MPhil programmes in 2017 and PhD programmes in 2019. In 2022 DHWU started undergraduate programmes in five subjects.

The university has 14 departments and employs 57 faculty members. Facilities at DHWU include a girls' hostel, medical services, classrooms and a cafeteria serving hygienic food. Additional amenities consist of departmental laboratories, well-furnished classrooms and Wi-Fi.

Admission to postgraduate courses is merit-based along with a counselling process. Admission to the MPhil programme requires GATE scores. PhD admissions are based on merit in a qualifying exam and an interview. The university is ranked 771st in India and 11533rd globally for 2024, with a country rank of 738.
