The Tamil Nadu Dr Mgr Medical University Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1987 it operates as a public medical university. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Medical Council of India (MCI) also has approved the university.

It offers undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programs in many fields. These fields include medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and allied health sciences. Popular courses include MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, B.Pharm and BPT.

As per the NIRF 2023 report the student population is 11,000+. The university has over 700 colleges across Tamil Nadu affiliated with it. It provides facilities like a library, laboratory and qualified faculty. It also has a regional Medical Library with electronic resources.
