The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai specializes in chemical engineering, chemical technology and pharmacy. It was established in 1933.

ICT is a deemed university and is funded by government. It received deemed university status in 2008. This makes it the only state-funded deemed university in India. ICT is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and has an "A" grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is also recognized by the University Grants Commission.

The institute provides undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programs. The undergraduate offerings include a BTech in seven specializations and a BPharma course. The postgraduate options involve M.Tech, MSc, ME and MPharma. ICT also offers PhD courses. M.Tech program is its flagship course.

As of 2020 ICT had 2500 students enrolled and 110 academic staff members.

It has state-of-the-art labs, well-equipped hostels, campus-wide Wi-Fi, a library, a canteen and a mess. The hostels feature both indoor and outdoor sports amenities.

Admission to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main or MHT-CET exam scores. The M.Tech program requires a GATE score for admission.

In rankings, ICT Mumbai is 5th in the NIRF Pharmacy Category and 24th in the NIRF Engineering Category for 2023. It holds the 1753rd position in Best Global Universities.

The placement cell at ICT offers internships, industry talks and in-plant training. It gets many top recruiters, including Asian Paints, Roquette and Honeywell.
