The Hindu College was founded by Krishan Dassji Gurwali in 1899 affiliated to the Delhi University.It is located in University enclave, New Delhi. The college holds A+ NAAC and NIRF accreditations. The college is enshrined with the motto “Music of Truth”. The College has 12 departments including science, arts, commerce and social science. The college is spread over an area of 25 acres.
The library of the Hindu College is the oldest of the University of Delhi and is full air-conditioned and computerized. It has a valuable collection of 1 Lakh books and 2000+ e-journals. The college also has hostel for boys with 119 rooms which can accommodate 200 boys. Girls’ hostel under-construction and will soon be a part of the campus.
The college has a playground and a sports complex where sports like football, basket-ball and cricket are played and trained by skilled trainers.
The college also provides various sports facilities and many extra-curricular activities.
The Hindu College is famous for its college fest Mecca. It is a splendid fest where students from
all over the country showcase their talent in Arts, Music, Dance, Drama, etc.
Application and Admission Procedure

The Admission process for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the college is issued by the Delhi University, which offers admissions based on Entrance test for few courses or on Merit for the rest.
The application form can be accessed from the Admission Portal of the official website or can be purchased from the University campus.
Students have to fill the form with the details and attach/upload the following self-attested documents:
- 10+2 mark sheet
- Graduation Mark sheet (For PG)
- Scanned photo and signature
- Identity Proof (Driving license / Aadhaar card / Pan card / Voter’s ID / College ID card / Passport)
- Caste Certificate (If applicable)
Upon submitting the form by paying Rs.500/-, applicants will be called for the Entrance test after which the allotment list will be released based on the rank. In the case of Merit based admissions, a list of shortlisted candidates will be published.
All the selected students should take print out of the admission form, the original documents and proceed to the college for document verification and counseling.
Hostel and Facilities
Hindu college is affiliated to Delhi University located in university enclave, Delhi. This college has a state of the art campus in 25 acres. The college provides a well-maintained playground for a sports complex. It has well-equipped laboratories for physics and chemistry. A student center in the college campus provides a stationery shop and other basic amenities stores, gymnasium hall and health center. A computer room, photocopier, library and digital resource center are other facilities available.
There are separate hostels available for girls and boys. Hostels are grandeur and lush green with 199 rooms encompassing 8 lawns. Varied recreational activities like chess, Carrom, TV room, table tennis court and a reading room are available. The students can apply for hostel rooms online and according to availability, the rooms will be allowed in accordance with CGPA of the student.
Various societies available on campus are Aarambh, Abhirang, Abhyas, Abstractions, Adhrita, Alankar, Ankur, Aria, Caucus etc. It also has on campus NCC and NSS societies with certification.
