Durgapur Government College, Durgapur, Bardhaman was established in 1970. It is the only government college in Paschim Bardhaman and surrounding districts of Bankura, Purulia and Birbhum.

College spans 40 acres and it is affiliated with Kazi Nazrul University.

Durgapur Government College offers undergraduate programs in Arts, Science and Commerce. It also provides post-graduate courses in Chemistry, Conservation Biology and Geology. The undergraduate courses are offered in 14 subjects, including Bengali, Botany, Chemistry and more.
