Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College is a very renowned college of University of Delhi, which was established in 1969 in the memory of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji.The college has enrolled about 2700 students including foreign, and differently abled students.
SPM has no affiliation with any sector, religion, political group or thinking;it is hundred percent government maintained college and governed by UGC, Delhi Administration and Delhi University. in additional,college has UGC established study centres - Buddhist, GuruNanak and Gandhian study centre. College also offers Non-Collegiate courses, School of open learning courses of Delhi University. College is also a study centre of IGNOU. College has Family Counselling Centre for students established by Social Welfare Board, Delhi.
