Veterinary College Bangalore

The Veterinary College, Bangalore is a constituent college of the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU). It was established in 1957 and focuses on veterinary education and research. The college is located on a campus covering an area of 196 acres.

Veterinary Council of India (VCI) has approved the college. It has also received recognition from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

The campus includes different departments, a hospital and an instructional farm that features dairy, sheep, piggery, poultry and a small animal unit. College offers multiple programs like Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & A.H.) Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). BVSc & AH program serves as flagship course.

There are nineteen departments at college. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1-20. It has produced around 4000 veterinary graduates and over 1200 postgraduates.

KCET scores are accepted for undergraduate admissions. For postgraduate admissions the college conducts entrance exams.

College ranks 5th among veterinary colleges in India. It has international collaborations and attracts students from different countries, including USA, Canada and Malaysia, for academic programs.

The college has a strong placement record. In 2022 the highest package offered was INR 22 lakh per annum with top recruiters including MARS India and Godrej Agrovet.
