Shantilal Shah Engineering College (SSEC) Bhavnagar

Shantilal Shah Engineering College is a government institute located in Bhavnagar. It was established in 1983 and it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and the Government of Gujarat. The college is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University.

The campus spans 100 acres. Institute offers full-time BE programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Information Technology and Instrumentation & Control Engineering. It also provides part-time BE programs in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Post-Graduate ME programs are available in Civil, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

Total first-year intake is 750+ students. College includes facilities like a library with 19,088 books, a boys' hostel with accommodation for 1,080 students and a canteen. The campus has sports facilities for volleyball and badminton.

The institute has received recognition for academic achievements. The faculty member Alpesh A Pandya received the "Pedagogical Innovation Award 2013" for cultural activities. The college has an All India Rank of 267 in GATE 2024.

The placement record shows that nearly 90% of students secure jobs annually mainly in computer engineering. Average salary package is 3.2 LPA. Major recruiters include TatvaSoft and TCS. Also about 85% of students participate in internship programs.
