Swarnim Gujarat Sports University is located in Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat. It was established in 2011. University is a State Public University and second sports university in India. It is recognized by the UGC.

University focuses on education in Physical Education and Sports. Its main goal is to create skilled sports professionals, coaches and officials.

SGSU offers many programs, including UG, PG, Research, PG Diplomas and Teachers Training Programmes. Key programs include BBA in Sports Management, BBA in Event Management, BSc in Sports Coaching, M.P.E.S and Master in Sport Journalism and Mass Communication. Flagship program is BBA in Sports Management.

The university has six faculties that provide courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. Approximately 20% of its faculty members hold PhDs. It has facilities like a library, sports infrastructure, an auditorium, medical services and internet access. The campus includes facilities for basketball, cricket and football.

Admission to SGSU is through an entrance examination conducted by the university. Candidates scoring over 70% in UGC NET, CSIR UGC NET or Gujarat SLET are exempt from this test.

SGSU is approved by UGC and is ranked 450th in India according to UniRank. Its world ranking is 8574th as per UniRank while EduRank places it at 11585th globally.

The university has established different MoUs and collaborations with over 30 Indian universities and more than five international universities to facilitate student exchanges and joint research projects.

Placements - SGSU has recorded a highest package of INR 8 LPA and an average package of INR 3 LPA. Alumni have been placed in notable firms like EduSports, Transstadia Ahmedabad, Nidus Enterprise Limited, Gaumukh Adventure and others.
