The Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) is a private deemed university. It was established in 2006 on a campus covering 33.5 acres.

University offers 74 academic programs across different fields. These include Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Commerce and Law. The flagship courses are B-Tech MBA and MBBS. Over 2500 students attend CARE many of whom are first-generation learners from rural areas.

The campus includes a library, laboratories, research centers, hostels, a sports complex, a gym, a health center and a cafeteria.

For admissions, CARE accepts scores from NEET, JEE Main, GPAT, NATA, CLAT and LSAT. University also conducts Chettinad Entrance Aptitude Test (CEAT). It is accredited with an 'A++' grade by NAAC and has 12B status from UGC.

In 2023, CARE was ranked 82nd among universities in India by NIRF and 9th by UI Green Metric. University has international collaborations and over 50 active MoUs with institutes in Sweden and Italy.
