JVWU was the first private public women’s university in India established by the state legislature of Rajasthan through the Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University Act 1982 (Act No. 17 of 2008). It was founded on 21 April, 2008.
The university has the tagline “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” meaning “Save Girls, Educate girls”.
The campus is located at Vedant Gyan Valley, Jharna in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The University campus has its own FM station, over 300 computers in lab, 15000 books in library, the residential campus containing sports complex, gyms, theatres, common rooms and more.
The JVWU provides many distance courses, regular and research courses in Engineering, Management, arts and Medical Science.
Hostel facilities are provided by the university with 24 hours power backup, female guards, water supply etc. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the hostel. Parents can connect to their wards through hostel’s landline numbers.
The University also runs its own magazine known as the Jayoti e-Muhim.
Application and Admission Procedure
The university offers three modes for admission to its varied courses. The modes are-Entrance exam in form of JEE, Direct admission on merit basis and management quota.
The process of application can be either online or offline are per the candidate’s choice.
Online Application
The application registration form may be submitted through university website and after dully filling the form, paying a fee of Rs. 1000/- through either of the one- net banking/card (credit/debit).
Online Application
The application form can be obtained from the prospectus. This needs to be dully filled and sent through speed post (only) to University Campus address along with a DD of Rs. 1000/- in favour of ‘JyotiVidyapeeth Women’s University’ payable at Jaipur.
Admission confirmation fees is to be paid after the declaration of the merit.

Campus Facilities:
a. For students, the Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University provides hostel with more than 1500 beds that are well furnished.
b. Some of the other facilities provided in the campus are gym, swimming pool, cafeteria, auditorium, library, wifi, medical, transport, cyber centre, sports etc.
Hostel
a. As it is only girl/women university, so the hostel facility is only available for girls/women.
b. This University offers very good facilities. Proper bed arrangement, AC, Air-cooled facility and furniture are installed in the rooms of the hostel. In addition, the hostel also provides internet and telephones in every room as well as mess. Students can choose their room according to their choice.
c. Hostel accommodation is available for everyone and it is based on first come first serve basis.
d. Scholarship offered by the university:
- Students who will secure 85% and above will get the scholarship of rupees 15000 every year.
- Students who will secure above 75%-84.99% will get the scholarship of rupees 10000 every year.
- Students who will secure above 55%- 74.99% will get the scholarship of rupees 5000 every year.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
Remarks
Overall I would rate the college as 8 on 10. My experience here has been great. I made lot of friends. About the college management it was same as other top colleges. College has given many qualities in my life that can't be inculcated if I was at home
Entrance Exam
I was admitted based on my jee mains score. I cored around 100 marks. I went for direct admission and there I got this university as one of my relatives was already a student there. The Admission was process was simple in my college as compared to other colleges.
Fees
The fee for different courses is different. The academic fees was feasible and the hostel fees was also feasible.
Placements
The placements at the college were wordt during my time. They don't provide placement. Only few students get placement in BPO and KPO. They don't call companies for placement. But I think the case has improved now.

The faculty were highly Qualified and helpul to us.They don't believe in learning only but grasping knowledge from the topics so that we can apply the topics for practical implementation.
Campus Life
The Campus Environment was healthy. There were many extracurricular activities like sangeetshalla for singing, dancing and sports like judo, basketball, table-tennis, volleyball, horse-riding. College also conducts many workshops of robotics, ethical hacking etc
Academics
We had trimester system that means exams after every 4 months.. It was to hectic for us to coordinate very well with all activities. Exam structure was very confusing as it always kept changing
Internships
The college did not provide any internship at all. Nor they helped students to find a good one. We went for courses instead of internship for which we only paid.
Loans and Scholarships
Scholarship was provided to few students acc to their marks in 12th that too upto 10k. Loan could be availed from different banks but not through college.
Remarks
Everything about the colleges road accept the faculty. The experience facilities should be hired as the current faculty is young and think about themselves too much sometimes. Also they do not have the relevant industry experience. There is no bias by the college between the students.
Entrance Exam
The college except students based on ICET entrance test. I also paid for the test and got good rank and the spurs directly selected for my course. Overall the facilities provided by the college are great. There are some pros and cons of every college but i think in this case the pros of the college are hgreater than the cons.
Fees
The fee of the college is manageable. I have paid around rupees 40000 person for my course fee.
Placements
Placement of the college is pretty bad. Hardly a few companies game during placement in our time and most of us have to get off campus recruitment. The same companies keep on repeating every year like infosys, asian paints, TCS, . Though the faculty helped us getting some placement through their contacts.
Hostel and Facilities
A lot of hostels with a lot of rooms. But hostel are not cleared regularly and we have to broom it ourselves sometimes. provide food which is average and the menu is almost same every other day
Alumni
Currently the college does not have an alumni network as of now but it is working but are planning on building it. Do you can yourself connect with the seniors and get updated.
Faculty
The faculty the college is very experienced and qualified. Most of them have phd degrees in their specialisation and also have at least 10 years of industry experience. The use modern methods of teaching and therefore never make us feel bored and i have enjoyed almost all classes of them
Campus Life
The college provides a lot of facilities including dancing and sports like judo, basketball, table-tennis, volleyball, horse-riding. It also conducts various workshops and seminars on different topics. I really enjoyed the etra curricular activities which were provided here.

Our college follows trimester mode so there were end term exams after every four months and two sessionals before end term. It was to hectic for us to coordinate very well with all activities. It was alo very confusing as it always kept changing. In fact in my 4 years course we had 7 examination controller's signatures in our marksheet. Also, the minimum attendance criteria is taken very seriously by the college.
Internships
The college does provide internships to the students but it will allow only for two months in third-year Btech. Also you will have to search the company for internship on your own but for me my professor helped me with it.
Loans and Scholarships
There were state scholarships by government and there was also scholarship in 1st year according to our percentage in 12th. Educational Loan was also permitted but formalities were quite large.
