Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) is a private self-financing engineering college run by the Federal Bank Officers` Association Educational Society (FBOAES). It was established in 2002 and is affiliated to Kerala Technological University (KTU), Mahatma Gandhi University.
The college has 18 departments through which the university provides under graduate, post graduates. The technical courses offered by the institute are AICTE approved.
It is spread across acres of land equipped with library, sports complex, seminar halls, canteens, gym, hostel facilities, convenience stores, labs, transportation and WiFi.
For the admissions into the university the students need to get qualifying marks in the Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Kerala state board or they can also get direct admissions without appearing for exams.

Application and Admission Procedure
Admission Process-
The candidates must have qualified their intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) with 45% marks in aggregate, from a recognized institute. The students must also have qualified the JEE examination for the same.
In order to take admissions into various engineering courses, the students will have to clear the JEE examination.
How to apply
- To take admission in the B.tech programmes the candidates will have to fill the online application form available on the website and duly submit it.
The students can also download the form from the official website, fill it, and submit it with all the requisite information along with a demand draft to the postal address of the institute.
- The passport size photograph should be of size 3.5*3.5 cm as per the space provided in the offline application form. It should be self-attested.
- The fee for the application will be 350INR that can be paid by DD drawn from a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of FISAT, payable at Ernakulam/ Aluva. It can also be paid online via Netbanking/Debit card/Credit card.
- The candidates should take out the printout of the application form for future reference and stay tuned to the official website of the college.

Hostel and Facilities
The 40 acre campus is located in the idyllic settings of a village on the fringe of the Angamaly town in Kerala. It is situated 11 kms away from Kochi International Airport, 4 kms away from NH- 47 and 7 kms from Angamaly railway station. The campus has a Federal bank and an ATM.
Hostel:
Two separate hostels are available for men and women with a capacity of 1092 students. The hostels are spacious, neat, and furnished. Full time water, electricity and security are provided to the students.
Each hostel has its own mess with availability of good food and water facilities at nominal rates. The wardens are present at all times for the safety and other requirements of students.
The hostel follows eco friendly procedures to minimize environmental damage. There is a parking facility available for the hostel residents as well.
The hostel has strict anti-ragging policies.

Apart from these the campus also has a good Library Centre with print and digital resources, an indoor games room, gym, separate Basketball and Volleyball courts, Football and Cricket lawns, cafeteria, Language, Computer and Technical labs, Counselling and Training centre and a Research and Placement centre.
The college has various Arts, Sports, Literary and other educational and creative clubs for students to learn from. The college also has scheduled annual fests for the active enjoyment of students.
The college motivates its students to take part in various social services such as literary drives, fund raising programmes, blood donation, visit to old age homes and orphanages, rehabilitation drives, contraptions building, music/dance activities etc.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at FISAT students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
Remarks
I think overall it was a right decision to take admission in this college when it comes to academics. The college management is one the finest in Kerala. If the students face any kind of problems , the management immediately takes action to resolve it. Though the mangement is a bit strict.
Entrance Exam
I took admission based on KEAM examination. I chose this college as it is one of the best i got admission in this too very easily. The college gives good opportunities to students and i wanted to do something in my life and not just sit around so i though this might be the best option.
Fees
The fees structure is quite feasible as Kerala govt has given a strict fees structure for every self financing college to follow. The fees is around 60k per annum for students who got admission through merit and 1.5lakh per annum for students who got admission through management seat. Around 3lakh is the fees for students in NRI quota.
Placements
Our college has good placement opportunities and then there are around 100 plus companies in our college for placement.TCL, Microsoft,federal bank,axis bank ,etc.. are some of the companies that offer an internship in our college. our college job ratio was very high every year.
Hostel and Facilities
Yes, there is hostel which is managed by a warden and i didnt like my warden he was very rude and also didnt give us any freedom. The food of the mess was something to be cherished but there were some north indian students who didnt like the food.
Alumni
Yes , alumni's provide as a path to get placed in core companies. With there guidance, we get to know more about the scope of our branch . They also provide as link between students and core companies as they'll help in forwarding resumes of top students.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is something to count for. Most of them are IIT, NIT graduates or postgraduates. They do their level best in helping students. They even take remedial classes for students whom they feel are weak in certain subjects. The faculty here makes us feel at home and can be reached at any time for any help.
Campus Life
The gender ratio of the college is pretty balanced. Students from all over India and abroad takes admission here. Male and female students are almost about equal in number. But male students are slightly larger in number. Fisat provides many extra curricular activities such as NSS, robotics club, literary clubs , photography clubs etc. Many clubs are present here.
Academics
As the university doesn't conduct university lab exams, it isn't very hectic.Only lab internals are there and that are done according to a class convenience. All the internal exams have sufficient gaps and since module tests are done regularly, it's easy for students to write the internal exams.
Internships
Yes, our college provides internship. There some technical companies which provide internships opportunities students. No stipend is given still it's a great experience for students as many of them will get their first experience of an industry.
Loans and Scholarships
The college provides many scholarships. It provides scholarships for students who's parents are in FBOA, a body for federal bank employees. It also provides fee waiver scheme for students who has excelled in both 12th and KEAM. Also caste based scholarships are also available. Though i dont know much about the loan facilities you should contact the college for the same.
