Tkm College Of Engineering Kollam

TKM College of Engineering is situated in Kollam. It was established in 1958 and is the first government-aided engineering institute in the state. It is a government-aided autonomous institute. Campus covers an area of 25 acres.

The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering, Computer Applications and Architecture. Primary undergraduate program is B.Tech which has many specializations. These include Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Production Engineering. B.Arch is available at undergraduate level, while M.Tech, M.Arch and MCA are offered at postgraduate level.

The student population is about 4,000 supported by a faculty of 200. TKM College of Engineering is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The college provides multiple student facilities like a library, computer center, hostels for boys and girls, cafeteria, sports facilities and a gymnasium.

For admission TKM accepts scores from different entrance exams. These include KEAM for B.Tech NATA for B.Arch and GATE for MTech The college does not conduct its own entrance examination. It has approval from AICTE and holds NBA accreditation for its engineering programs. The college also has NAAC accreditation.

In 2023, TKM College of Engineering was ranked 124 out of 281 colleges in India according to India Today. B.Tech program received a ranking of 93 out of 246 colleges in same year.

Placement statistics indicate that around 200-250 students secure jobs each year with reputable companies. Placement drives at college include companies like Mahindra, BOSCH, L&T and TCS.
