Located in the Tadepalligudem district of Andhra Pradesh the college was established in the year 2001 by Sri Vasavi Educational Society which consisted of various lawyers, industrialists etc.
The institute is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada and is an autonomous body approved by NBA and AICTE as well.
It covers an area of 25 acres offering various under graduation and post-graduation courses.
The college works with a vision to provide excellence with global perspective and commitment to nation too. The college is divided in 7 departments as follows:

The institute offers various facilities to its students such as boys and girls hostels with an accommodation of 1000 students, full-fledged library, well equipped labs, health care centre etc.
The candidates applying for admission to the college should have passed the intermediate examination without grace and thereafter appear for an entrance test called EAMCET conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The admission shall be awarded on merit basis only.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
Sri Vasavi Engineering College is spread across 25.02 acres. It has separate hostels for boys and girls. There are 2 hostels for boys with intake capacity of 500 students. Similarly there are 2 girls hostels that can accommodate 500 students.
Students have a choice between 2 people sharing a room and 3 people sharing a room. Each hostel has a mess with non-vegetarian food being served once a week. There is purified drinking water and 24 hours internet facility.
The hostels have provisions for indoor games. There is 24 hours ambulance on standby with standard medical facilities. Hostels have common rooms with televisions and there is daily newspaper facility to each room. A strict policy towards outsiders is maintained and there is 24 hours security.
Other Facilities
The institute has other facilities such as cemented basketball court, volleyball court, cricket ground, badminton court, athletic field, gymnasium, workshops, modernized laboratories and fully stocked library.
There is an indoor sports complex for table tennis, carom and chess. Moreover the campus has efficient transport services.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at Sri Vasavi Engineering College students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
