Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, is also known as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It is a state public university established in 2000 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

AKTU offers different undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. These include B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, B.Arch, B.Pharma, BHMCT and PhD The B.Tech program is the most popular and has 41 specializations. The university has over 4 Lakh students enrolled and approximately 800 colleges affiliated across Uttar Pradesh.

AKTU provides many facilities like a library, sports area, medical facilities and conference rooms. For admissions university accepts JEE Main and CUET UG scores for B.Tech and other undergraduate programs. For MBA and MCA it accepts CUET PG scores.
