Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh Muslim University (formally known as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College) is a public university founded in 1875 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. AMU has 4 campuses, main campus being located at Aligarh, UP. The other three campuses are in Malappuram (Kerala), Murshidabad (West Bengal) and Kishanganj (Bihar).
The university offers bachelors, master’s and doctorate degree through its 12 facilities which includes Engineering & Technology, Management & Research, Arts, Commerce, Science, Social Science etc. The admission into the programs offered is through an entrance test namely AMU Entrance Exam.
The campus is spread across 467 hectares of area in Aligarh, with more than 28,000 students, 1342 teachers, 98 teaching departments, 80 hostels and more.
The university offers more than 300 courses in both traditional and modern educational fields.

Application and Admission Procedure
How to Apply?
The application process of Aligarh Muslim University offered all courses is completely online. The candidates need to fill up the application form by visiting the official website of the university, www.amu.ac.in.
For this year, the university uploads the application form on 6th February 2018. First, the candidates need to register online. For that, they need to provide their username, password, email address, name and captcha code. After Registration, they need to enter the personal details like name, father’s name, gender as well as their educational details.
Then they need to upload their scanned copy of recent colored passport sized photograph, signature, only left-hand thumb impression (The size of all uploaded images should be from 20 kb to 100 kb). After uploading the images they need to specify whether they belong to any special category or not. They also need to specify their preferred course name.
After that they need to pay the application fee (It varies from course to course) for detail you can visit the official website, www.amu.ac.in. The candidates need to pay the application/Registration fee through Net banking/Debit Card/ Credit Card.
The university uploads the admit card 15 days before the entrance exam. The candidates need to download the admit card from the official website. To download the admit card the candidates need to go to the admit card link. Then they need to select their applied course/programme.
After that, they need to enter their transaction ID and they need to click on the submission button. At last, they need to download it and keep it safely for future reference.
Hostel and Facilities
The Aligarh Muslim University boasts of a diverse and spacious accommodation facilities. The campus contains 19 halls, each representing a group of hostels, in which 13 halls are for men, while 4 are for women.
The hostel buildings consist of dining rooms, common rooms, computer lab, extracurricular activities and all other modern amenities.
The University has formed several clubs and activity centres such as the Drama club, Eco club, Film club, Fine art club, Fusion music club, Hindustani Music club, Literary club, and Western Music club for students to explore beyond academics. There is also a club that conducts short evening courses which includes personality development courses, discussion forums, workshops and training sessions.
The University is also highly regarded for the initiation of the 15 sport clubs, out of which the Cricket Club is the oldest and dates back to the year 1878.
The 125 years old Riding club of the University is one of the prominent clubs in the country that has a riding squad with 19 horses. They also provide indoor sport facilities such as swimming, table tennis, chess, carrom and billiards separately for female and male students.

1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
