The establishment of Dayanand Education Society, Latur, in May 1961 was a landmark in the annals of the history of education in the backward Marathwada Region of Maharashtra, which heralded a new era in the field of professional higher education which was rather an unfulfilled dream due to distant proximity and economic constraints.

Dayanand College of Law took its humble birth in the precious hands of Dayanand Education Society in 1971, imparting professional and legal education to the young and aspiring youth of this region to pursue their career as independent professionals. The College was initially affiliated to Marathwada University, Aurangabad and later on in 1995 the College secured its permanent affiliation to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. The College is recognized u/s 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act and also by the Bar Council of India. The College is located in a sprawling campus of 22 acres of land of the Society with a separate building allotted for the Law College.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Law courses (LLB, integrated LLB) at Dayanand College Of Law, -

1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course

2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).

Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.

Minimum marks for admission into law courses -

1) 40% for SC/ST candidates

2) 45% for other candidates

Admission Procedure

Admission will be based on a CLAT (Combined Law Aptitude Test).
